Dr. Alan Tan, MD, serves as an Associate Professor within the Division of Hematology, Oncology, and Cell Therapy at the esteemed Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center. He holds the distinguished position of Bladder Cancer Medical Oncology Research Lead, demonstrating his expertise in the field. Dr. Tan's professional focus extends to encompass Kidney Cancer, Prostate Cancer, and Melanoma.
With a clinical research emphasis, Dr. Tan is actively engaged in the design and execution of clinical trials aimed at evaluating innovative immunotherapies and targeted therapies for urothelial cancers, renal cell carcinoma, and other genitourinary malignancies. Furthermore, he demonstrates a keen interest in precision genomic cancer medicine, wherein he endeavors to identify molecular aberrations to facilitate the development of personalized treatment modalities.
Prior to his arrival at Vanderbilt, Dr. Tan held the position of Director of Genitourinary Oncology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, further solidifying his standing as a leader in the field. His contributions are widely recognized through numerous publications and presentations at prominent oncology conferences.
Dr. Tan is an esteemed member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC), Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network (BCAN), Kidney Cancer Association (KCA), and the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR).
Dr. Cohen is a leading medical oncologist and cancer researcher who brings a unique combination of extensive clinical and research experience to Tempus’ leadership team. He was most recently the Chief of the Division of Hematology-Oncology as well as the Associate Director of Clinical Science at UC San Diego (UCSD) Moores Cancer Center. Dr. Cohen also led the Precision Immunotherapy Clinic and co-directed the San Diego Center for Precision Immunotherapy at UCSD. Before UCSD, Dr. Cohen spent 15 years at the University of Chicago, where he was the co-director of the Head and Neck Cancer Program as well as Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program Director.
